The Manorial Society of England and Wales do not sell titles. Our only purpose is, as a voluntary organisation, to keep the register of titles. We have set up a library of our publications, including our register, for those wishing to obtain a copy. This includes the current register as well as a number of previous years (but not all). A link to this “library” can be found on the links page of this website.
For those looking to purchase a manorial title there are a number of options. Please note we are not linked with any of the following companies and/or organisations and do not guarantee titles. We would always suggest that you get independent legal advice when making a purchase.
Private Individuals- We do sometimes get contacted by those who have registered their titles with us when they are looking to sell them, as well as others looking to sell their titles. Please fill out the form below to be added to our list of people looking to purchase a title, including any specifics, or email us at [email protected]
Though we are happy to connect people selling titles and those looking for them we do not guarantee titles. We would always suggest you seek independent legal advice.

The Manorial Counsel- This is a for profit company selling “restored” titles. These titles can be registered with us. The Manorial Council search for titles no longer publicly claimed and research the history of the title then sell this title as restored. This is perfectly legal and all titles sold by the Manorial Council are listed in the Gazette. The Manorial Council, unlike others, are completely open and upfront about their titles and offer this as a fully legal alternative.

The Manorial Society of Great Britain- Titles sold by this organisation can be listed with us. Though the organisation states it was set up in 1906 it was set up in 1996 according to companies house. It is our understanding that the owner named this company after a Parliamentary organisation completely separate from this company, which was founded in 1906. If you are looking to use this organisation please read this article very carefully

There have been a number of cases go to court regarding the titles sold by this company. However they do also have a number of satisfied customers and we can not assume all titles sold by them are like those known to be fakes due to legal challenges. We would recommend getting a solicitor whenever purchasing a title. If you do not have an independent solicitor you trust and need assistance we have a list of solicitors we can recommend.
